4/2/2024 Planetarium hands out eclipse glasses at Union
The Planetarium staff and College of Science, along with the Department of Physics & Astronomy, organized an event at the Union to hand out eclipse viewing glasses for students. Glasses were distributed between 10AM and 1PM – reaching 100’s of students.
The South Physics Observatory hosted a solar eclipse viewing event. Several staff and students stopped by to see the eclipse in action.
Paul Ricketts, South Physics Observatory Interpretive Specialist traveled to Arkansa to photograph and video the total eclipse. The skies were clear, and he ended up with some phenomenal images. Here is one, and if you visit him during a Star Party, he will probably show you some more and the time-lapse video.
